Everyone was really I think pulling at their best. This is clearly the battle rounds, one of the ways to advance in the show. I am really excited to see how each of the contestants showcases their voices again. I know many are thrilled with this so let the duets, begin!
Battle round 1 (Night 1): Amber Carrington vs. Sasha Allen
They sang "Try" by Pink. Based from their performance, I could really see that Amber advanced Sasha. Sasha has technically gifted voice but the song suited more for Amber. Sasha has a big voice and the song wasn't enough for her to showcase it. She amazed me during the blind audition wherein four seats turned for her. She oversang in the battle round I guess and Adam declared that Amber Carrington won. Sasha Allen was stolen and now a part of Team Shakira. See their battle HERE.
Battle round 2 (Night 1): Garrett Gardner vs. J'Sun
These two boys sang "How You Like Me Now?". I like them both. They were equally talented. J'Sun sang so good and I can hear something soothing in it. On the other hand, Garrett Gardner (one of my favorites this season), I liked his raspy voice. He is such a cool guy. I admire his dedication also. Shakira declared that Garrett Gardner won! Battle round 2 (Night 1): Garrett Gardner vs. J'Sun

Battle round 3 (Night 1): Holly Tucker vs. Michelle Raitzin
They sang "Blown Away" but it was not quite a blown away for me. I have nothing more to say. Good battle though and Blake picked Holly Tucker. See their battle HERE.
Battle round 4 (Night 1): Jess Kellner vs. Taylor Beckham
These girls sang "You Know I'm No Good". Honestly, I'm not totally impressed by it. It wasn't perfect, not great just good. There should be some kind of attraction attitude to be put in the song and I didn't find it from either of them. If I had to pick between these two, it will be Taylor because of her sweet voice. But, as what Usher declared, Jess Kellner won! On the other hand, Taylor Beckham got a steal from Blake.

Battle round 5 (Night 1): The Swon Brothers vs. Christian Porter
The Swon Brothers won! Other coaches did not steal Christian Porter! This is horrible for me. I was really shocked with this battle result. I thought Christian is way better singing "I Won't Back Down" than The Swon Brothers. I mean, with his creativity in the blind audition plus him hitting the high notes in the battle round, man! You already captured many viewers! He was really very good. Genius, I must say.

Battle round 6 (Night 1): Judith Hill vs. Karina Iglesias
I wasn't surprised that Judith Hill won the battle. They sang "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" fantastically. I labeled this as the best battle of the night. Judith was really impressive and hot. She was not trying too hard in the song which was very pleasant to hear. Both of them gave me chills. The powerful Karina got a steal from Shakira.
